"We were 145 miles into a 220 Mile hike around the city of Chicago with our van hauling all of our gear and supplies when the locking mechanism on our side doors fell into the door itself and rendering our doors useless. We couldn't open the doors at all and couldn't vent the van properly in the summer heat. We were doing this hike in 20 days and had a VERY narrow window to get this fixed before we moved on to the next segment of our hike. "I can't tell you how wonderful this auto shop is. We have older cars and most mechanics cringe and act like we should just trade it in for a newer car. Jason and Rick don't. They are just there to help you and get your vehicle running great. They aren't going to sticker shock you and they won't try to tell you a million other things that you could replace for a hefty price. They talk over the issues with your car and make sure you understand what's going on. I would 100% recommend them. They do all their business by word of mouth... and I am one. "I took my car to Rick's for a routine oil change for the very first time a while back.
An hour or so later they called me to say that when they went to drain the old oil they found that the last guys to do an oil change (Pep Boys) had smeared some epoxy cement all over the drain plug and adjacent oil pan (probably to stop any future oil leaks, my opinion).
They said that they would remove the epoxy but didn't know what they might find under the epoxy or what additional repairs and cost that might entail.
Another hour went by and they called again to say that the car was ready to be picked up and that nothing wrong was found.
They COULD have said anything and charged me more but they didn't!
From now on, all my automotive needs will be done at Rick's."

"I used to go to Ricks over 20+ years ago when I lived in the area. They were the most honest repair shop I had ever gone to. They would tell me when I needed work done and , more importantly, when I didn't need work done. Since I moved, I've gone to various repair shops, and a Ford dealer, and haven't found one I truly trust like I did Rick's. I recently needed extensive work on my Ford and decided to see if Rick's was still around. I was excited when I found out they were still there. And , to my surprise, one of the mechanics, Jason, was still there too. I had them do the work needed and I couldn't be happier. Even though I drove an hour to get there, it was well worth it. To have a mechanic you can trust, and who does good work, is worth it's weight in gold. Jason and Rick (and George) are the best. I am beyond happy with their work and integrity. "These guys rock! I was out driving in the area for work when I suddenly lost brake pressure. Ended up blowing a steenbrake line on my truck. About an hour away from home I was in a rough spot. I called Rick's Auto Repair and Jason answered the phone. He helped me sort out a quick tow and got me setup to drop off my truck. I dropped it off at 5pm on Tuesday, and got my truck back on Wednesday at 3pm. Very quick turnaround time, great communication, and extremely fair price. I really wish these guys were near where I live because I would take all my vehicles to them. Jason knew I was in a jam and far from home and could have easily charged me anything he wanted. "I went to Rick's after going to my dealership for a routine oil change. If course there is always something that they find. They said there was a visible leak of anti freeze. I had not seen anything leaking,they gave me a quote and I left. The next day my car was leaking anti freeze. Jason checked out my car and there was a leak which he fixed for much less than quoted. He even have me a follow-up call to see how things were with my car. I stated that I thought it was good,he asked me to just bring it by and he would check it for me!.I thought that was great service. I will be going there in the future! Highly recommended!"
